These pots are based on skin. Skin is flexible, has wrinkles and pleats everywhere. Smocking is an old pleating technique for fabrics. By making some pleats and sew them together, you get a fabric-version of the skin. But normal fabric will have seams, which your skin doesn’t have. Felt (a product of wool, water and soap) is a non woven fabric which you can shape three-dimensionally without having seams. All pots are felted around the same shape, but smocked in a different way (bigger, smaller, higher, lower) to get pots in different sizes.
